HUSK:
ALIEN SKULL
"Husk" - Alien Skull
My last sculpture was an alien skull. (link 16)
It is not a mask. Costume enhancements would be needed to make it work as something you could wear -- there is no neck or chest.
Only two of these exist -- both are made of fiberglass as opposed to latex. The original sculpture was modeled in plasticine clay in late 1980, followed by a plaster cast to make a negative mold. I did make some lower quality latex castings of the alien skull to use in the film as remains in a crash site scene.
There is some influence by H.R. Giger, but mainly this is my own interpretation of what the Space Jockey's skull would look like.
Once you hold this thing in your hands, you understand the name.
