TROG:

Trog came after Belial, also in 1979.  I was inspired to do the character by a Frank Frazetta painting (link 17).  My finished version looks nothing like the Frazetta characters, which are very intriguing.  But that's how reference art works.  You're not looking to make a replica, but for ideas and inspiration.

As a one-off, I did  a version of this mask called the Yeti, with long hair.  With hair added, his look became very dramatic.  R.Quinn Studios sold a version of the Yeti in the 80's.

Trog first appeared in our

second flyer as one of three

new designs that year,

 along with the Demon

 and Bat-Demon.

For collectors, finding a vintage

Trog today is difficult.  Despite his interesting features (link 02),

Trog was vastly overshadowed

by Belial and the Ultimate Alien.

His alter ego, Yeti, also had

limited appeal, but I think it is

 a very cool mask
